JadeStep: Learn Mandarin is operated by xin song. This policy describes the Mandarin learning app, version 1.0.0, on iPhone and iPad. JadeStep provides English explanations for beginner Mandarin practice. Questions about privacy and the app can be sent to sapplex@icloud.com.
信息处理方式
JadeStep stores lesson completion, review history and scheduling, saved expressions and learning preferences locally on your device. Preferences include your selected destination, daily goal and optional trip date. The app does not send these records to its developer. It has no user account, advertising, analytics SDK, tracking or developer-operated data server. Optional practice recordings are processed locally for immediate playback; the app does not upload them or perform speech recognition or pronunciation scoring.
系统权限
Microphone permission is optional and is requested only after you tap Record. It is used to record one practice clip of up to 30 seconds so you can listen back and compare it by ear. You can deny or revoke access in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and continue using the lessons. The app does not request camera, photo-library, precise-location, contacts, health, motion or notification permissions. An audio Bluetooth output may be used through the system audio session; the app does not scan for Bluetooth devices or collect device identifiers.

Apple processes the optional non-consumable Full Course purchase. The app reads Apple-verified purchase information on the device to unlock content and recognise refunded or revoked purchases; it does not receive payment-card information or copy purchase identifiers to a developer server. Example Mandarin audio uses Apple's system speech synthesis and an available Mandarin voice. iOS controls voice availability and downloads. Apple's purchase, voice-download, device-backup and any diagnostics services follow Apple's policies and your settings. JadeStep does not provide its own cloud sync or third-party advertising or analytics service. If you choose to email support, the recipient receives the email address, message and attachments that you send and uses them to respond. Do not send passwords or payment-card details.
数据保存与安全
Study records and preferences are saved in the app's local storage. Reset learning progress in Settings removes local study history and saved expressions while retaining learning preferences; it does not cancel or erase an Apple purchase. Removing the app may remove local data, and the operating system and your device-backup settings may include study data in a backup. JadeStep does not transfer learning history between devices; restoring a purchase restores access only. Practice clips are stored in a temporary app folder excluded from backup. A clip is removed when deleted, when replaced by a new recording, when leaving its practice view, when the app enters the background or when a new app session initializes its recorder. The operating system may also remove temporary files. There is no permanent recording library. Use normal device access protections and avoid sharing sensitive information in support requests; this policy does not promise a particular encryption or response-time guarantee.
儿童隐私
JadeStep is designed for adult beginners. It has no social profiles, messaging, public posting or user-generated-content service. The app does not request a date of birth or collect study activity through a developer server. A parent or guardian with a concern about a support message can contact sapplex@icloud.com.
你的权利与选择
You can reset local study history and saved expressions in Settings, delete a temporary clip, revoke microphone access and remove the app. Learning preferences remain after Reset learning progress; removing the app and reviewing any backups you control can remove the remaining local app data. Apple manages purchase records, refunds and device-backup services. If you have sent a support email, use sapplex@icloud.com to ask about access, correction or deletion of that correspondence. Requests will be handled as applicable to the information actually held and the rights that apply to you. Do not send sensitive identity documents unless specifically needed for a request.
政策更新
Changes to JadeStep's data practices will be described in an updated policy in the app and on its public policy page. The policy states its effective date; this initial policy is dated October 4, 2026.

补充说明
The same app behaviour applies on iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later. This version has no Apple Watch app, widget or app extension. English explanations, Mandarin text, lessons and city-name cards are bundled locally. Opening an external HTTPS help link uses the system browser; contacting support opens the selected email app. These external services have their own data practices. No public App Store download link is claimed while the initial release is being prepared.
